Course Objectives "The course aims to provide students with:
1. Understanding of basic computer organization and microprocessor architecture.
2. Introduction to assembly language programming
3. Knowledge of various interfacing of devices and ports with microprocessor and microcontrollers"
Textbook "The 80x86 IBM PC and Compatible Computers, Assembly Language, Design, and Interfacing M.A. Mazidi and J.G. Mazidi, 4th edition, Prentice Hall, 2003"

Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Explain the main components and working principals of the Intel 80x86 microprocessor
  2. Program and debug in assembly language
  3. Program and debug of a microcontroller in C language
  4. Use the hardware and software interrupts in applications
  5. Use microprocessor and microcontroller for small demonstration projects
