IUS Professors Participate in Workshop on Cybersecurity and Coordinated Vulnerability Disclosure

The Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF), in collaboration with the Cyber Security Excellence Centre of Bosnia-Herzegovina (CSEC), organized the First Workshop on Information Sharing and Coordinated Vulnerability Disclosure (CVD) on December 5-6, 2024.

This workshop, part of DCAF’s regional project ‘Resilient and Responsive Cybersecurity in Western Balkans’, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), aimed to enhance cybersecurity resilience in the Western Balkans. It brought together experts from the public and private sectors, academia, and international organizations to discuss critical topics, including information collection methods, proactive information sharing, and the implications of the EU NIS2 Directive.

The event featured unique insights from cybersecurity experts who shared best practices from the EU and national perspectives, with a particular focus on the CVD concept. Participants gained valuable knowledge about innovative tools, techniques, and regulatory frameworks shaping the cybersecurity landscape.

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) was proudly represented by Dr. Amal Mersni and Dr. Özge Büyükdağlı, esteemed professors whose contributions reflect the university’s commitment to fostering expertise in cybersecurity and interdisciplinary collaboration.

This workshop marks an important milestone in building robust cybersecurity frameworks and fostering regional cooperation in the Western Balkans.
