NetConnect Hackathon 2024: A Hands-On Networking Experience
The NetConnect Hackathon 2024, organized by Mibo Kommunikacije in collaboration with the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), took place on December 13, 2024, bringing together three teams of the IUS Software Engineering (SE) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE) students.
This hands-on competition challenged participants to build, configure, and troubleshoot computer networks using real equipment, providing an opportunity to apply their knowledge while demonstrating teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Throughout the event, students showcased their expertise in:
- Building computer networks
- IP addressing and subnetting
- Configuring network devices
- Routing and switching technologies
- Network troubleshooting
The jury, consisting of Mr. Haris Brkanić, Head of the Technical Department at Mibo Kommunikacije, and Ms. Anida Hodžić, Engineer at Mibo Kommunikacije, along with Dr. Amal Mersni (CSE/SE programs), evaluated the teams’ work and provided valuable feedback, enhancing the overall experience for participants.
