LUMEN Development: The largest student competition in web and mobile application development in Croatia
The development team of the non-profit student association eSTUDENT from Zagreb organizes LUMEN Development, the largest student competition in web and mobile application development in Croatia.
The goal of the competition is to enable students to apply their acquired knowledge, showcase their programming, design, and presentation skills, and stand out in the job market.

The competition takes place from mid-February to the end of May, featuring two consultation sessions and two workshops throughout the event. These sessions allow participants to engage with leading IT companies in Croatia, whose advice and feedback help them refine their applications.
Students can attend consultations and workshops either in person or online, and their presence is only mandatory in the final stage if they qualify for the finals.
Beyond gaining new knowledge and experience, the best-developed and most applicable applications will be rewarded with cash prizes from a prize pool of €4,200.
Participants must choose one of this year’s competition themes for their application:
- Culture and Entertainment
- Travel and Tourism
- Education and Learning
Additionally, they must follow three technical and business guidelines outlined in the competition case, ensuring a focus on high-quality development and practical application.
